Preflight Checklist Privacy Policy

Overview

Preflight Checklist is an iOS app by Jonathan Kutscher. The app turns Apple Reminders lists into spoken checklists. It has no account system, no ads, and no tracking.

Data collection

The app collects anonymous product analytics for launch health. It sends a random install ID, event name, event time, app version, build number, platform, and small aggregate-safe event properties such as item counts and progress index. Checklist content stays in Apple Reminders on your device and in your Apple account according to your Apple settings. Reminder titles, list names, speech transcripts, and microphone audio are not sent.

Permissions

Reminders access is used to read incomplete reminders from the list you choose and to mark the current reminder complete when you use Check.
Microphone access is used only while a checklist is running and the app is listening for commands.
Speech Recognition access is used to recognize the commands "check" and "later". Speech recognition may be processed by Apple depending on iOS behavior and your settings.
Text to speech is used to read the current checklist item aloud.

Purchases

App purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. If purchase handling changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Support email

If you email support, your email address and the content of your message are used only to respond to your request. You can ask for support emails to be deleted by contacting jonathan@kutscher.club.

Changing permissions

You can revoke Reminders, Microphone, or Speech Recognition permissions at any time in iOS Settings. The app's manual checklist buttons remain available when voice access is not granted.
